What we do

A rewire you only have to do once

We replace the electrical system behind the walls and leave the building ready for the way it is used now.

Whole-house rewires

New wiring, boxes, devices, and cover plates throughout, with a new panel and breakers sized for the home.

Partial rewires

One room, one floor, or the worst circuits first. The work can be phased to fit the condition of the wiring and your budget.

Damage repairs

Wiring replaced after a fire, a flood, a lightning strike, or rodents, with a written scope you can hand to your insurance company.

Commercial buildings

Older shops, offices, and rental properties brought up to current code, planned with the owner or property manager.

How it works

From your call to a finished job

  1. 1

    Walkthrough

We look at the panel, the wiring, and the attic or crawl space to see what is there and what shape it is in.

  2. 2

    Written scope and price

You get a clear scope and one flat-rate price. If a partial rewire makes more sense, we will tell you.

  3. 3

    Rewire

We pull new wire, set new boxes and devices, and install the panel, keeping openings in walls and ceilings to a minimum.

  4. 4

    Test and walkthrough

We test every circuit, label the panel, and walk you through the new system.

Thorough and professional. He communicated consistently throughout the entire process. From the moment I called, I got email and text notifications, appointment reminders, and I was able to ask questions. Chris installed 4 dedicated circuits in my garage and wired in a mini split. I can't recommend CWC Electric enough.

I had a handful of electrical chores I needed tackled. I reached out to CWC based on a neighbor's recommendation. Glad I did. Chris was awesome! Great, honest communication throughout the process. He provided a quote that gave a detailed description of the scope of work to be done. The work was done neatly and in a timely manner. He even cleaned up all of the drywall dust!

Common questions

Rewiring: straight answers

How do I know if my house needs to be rewired?

Common signs are two-prong outlets, breakers that trip often, lights that dim or flicker, warm or discolored outlets, and a burning smell. Homes built before the mid-1970s may also have aluminum or cloth-covered wiring. A walkthrough will tell you what you have and whether it needs to be replaced.

Is aluminum wiring dangerous?

It can be. Aluminum branch wiring from the 1960s and 1970s tends to loosen at its connections over time, and loose connections overheat. Options range from repairing the connections with approved connectors to replacing the wiring. We will tell you which makes sense for your home.

Can you rewire part of the house instead of all of it?

Yes. If the budget or the condition of the wiring calls for it, we can start with the worst circuits or one area and phase the rest.

Will you have to cut into my walls?

Usually some. We run wire through attics, crawl spaces, and wall cavities wherever we can, and cut access holes only where they are needed. Drywall patching and paint are not part of the electrical work unless we agree on it up front.

What about light fixtures and ceiling fans?

We provide and install the electrical system: panel, breakers, wire, boxes, devices, cover plates, and recessed lights. Decorative light fixtures and ceiling fans are yours to pick out and supply, and we install them.

Can I stay in the house during a rewire?

Most of the time, yes. We work in sections and keep power on to the rest of the house wherever we can. We go over the plan with you before we start.
