Signs it is time

When a panel needs attention

  • The panel is full, with no room for new circuits
  • Breakers trip often, feel warm, or will not reset
  • An inspector flagged the panel brand or its condition
  • You are adding an EV charger, generator, shop, or addition
  • The home still has a fuse box or a small 100 amp service

What is included

A complete panel job

Every upgrade starts with a load calculation, so you only pay for the capacity you actually need.

Panel replacement

Old, damaged, or recalled-style panels such as Federal Pacific and Zinsco replaced with a new panel and breakers, with every circuit labeled.

200 amp service upgrades

More capacity for the way homes are used now, including the meter base, mast, and service conductors where they need to be upgraded.

Grounding & bonding

Grounding and bonding brought up to current code as part of the job, which older homes are often missing.

Load calculation

We add up what your home runs today and what you plan to add, then size the service to match instead of guessing.

Thorough and professional. He communicated consistently throughout the entire process. From the moment I called, I got email and text notifications, appointment reminders, and I was able to ask questions. Chris installed 4 dedicated circuits in my garage and wired in a mini split. I can't recommend CWC Electric enough.

Chris and his team installed a whole house surge protector and two A/C soft starts. Very quick and professional install. Highly recommend him for your electrical needs.

I had a handful of electrical chores I needed tackled. I reached out to CWC based on a neighbor's recommendation. Glad I did. Chris was awesome! Great, honest communication throughout the process. He provided a quote that gave a detailed description of the scope of work to be done. The work was done neatly and in a timely manner. He even cleaned up all of the drywall dust!

Common questions

Panel Upgrades: straight answers

How long will my power be off?

Most panel replacements are a one-day job, and the power is off for most of that working day. We tell you the plan ahead of time so you can get ready for it.

Do I need a 200 amp service?

Not always. It depends on the size of the home and what you run or plan to add, such as an EV charger, a second AC unit, or a shop. We do a load calculation and tell you whether your current service is enough before recommending an upgrade.

Can you add a subpanel instead of replacing the panel?

Sometimes. If the service has capacity and the main panel is in good shape but out of spaces, a subpanel can be the less expensive fix. If the panel itself is the problem, replacing it is the right call.
